GPS / Navigation Engineer

Location: Alamogordo, NM

Qualis Corporation is seeking a Scientist and Engineer with experience in GPS and Navigation Warfare to support the USAF Technical and Management Advisory Services contract at Holloman Air Force Base, NM.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in test planning and design of various GPS and Navigation Warfare (NavWar) test programs.

  • Assist in the development of advanced GPS interference techniques.

  • Interface with various customers to identify GPS and NavWar test requirements.

  • Assist in the design of NavWar jamming laydown to meet customers' test requirements.

  • Review various test-related documents and provide comments.

  • Guide development of Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) to improve the realism and precision of NavWar while lessen the impact to surrounding communities.

  • Guide development of new capabilities, identify capability requirements, provide feedback to external developments, and analyze application of external developments.

  • Present capability papers to the GPS and NavWar community at conferences and workshops.

  • Initiates, supervises, and/or develops requirements from a project's inception to conclusion for complex to extremely complex programs.

  • Provides strategic advice, technical guidance and expertise to program and project staff.

  • Provides detailed analysis, evaluation and recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and/or maintenance efforts for client-specific or mission critical challenges/issues.

  • Consults with client to define need or problem supervises studies and leads surveys to collect and analyze data to provide advice and recommend solutions.


  • Requires Bachelors degree in relevant discipline and up to 3 years of experience. Experience for education may be substituted with customer approval.

  • Qualified candidates will have directly related experience.

  • Must have an understanding of the specific procedures and processes of AFTC, DoDI 5000.02, and other USAF regulations.

  • Requires demonstrated leadership skills as evidenced by prior management and technical leadership roles.

  • Candidate must be able to interface and communicate well with Government customer.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and MS Office capability needed.

  • Dedicated to achieving the standards of quality and excellence.

  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship required.
