Test Management Support Engineer-Instrumentation

Qualis Corporation is seeking an entry level Test Management Support Engineer to perform Engineering Advisory and Assistance Support (A&AS) support to the National RCS Test Facility (NRTF), Detachment 1, 704th Test Group. The tasks assigned will be fully associated with the future development of a dynamic RCS measurement capability at the NRTF. The NRTF Mission is to provide accurate, impartial, secure, timely and cost-effective static RCS measurements, antenna pattern measurements and comprehensive data products for the DoD & industry low observable community. This position is located at Holloman, AFB, FL.

Essential Functions

The Test Management Support Engineer will:

  • Apply advanced theories, concepts, principles, and processes to the acquisition, development, or sustainment of weapon systems, subsystems, and/or support equipment.

  • Apply expert knowledge to ensure assigned projects remain consistent with program objectives, costs, schedules, performance criteria, and existing policies.

  • Support the planning, organization, direction, and coordination efforts on significant and complex projects conducted at the NRTF.

  • Perform duties involved in research, development, testing, evaluation, operation, maintenance, and/or directing the fabrication, manufacture, and installation of electronic devices or systems.

  • Provide recommendations to alter standard practices, equipment, devices, processes, and known techniques.

  • Formulate and develop new products and/or theories pertaining to new applications of existing products and assesses the impact of new technology on current systems and processes.

  • Create and develop new or substantially improved equipment, materials, instrumentation, devices, systems, processes, techniques, and/or procedures. Administers resources required to execute projects, and adjust funding, schedules, and work based on project reviews.

  • Create and develop methodologies, mathematical models, procedures, techniques or specific end-items in the form of equipment or equipment systems.

  • Establish technical objectives and requirements, evaluates design concepts for required performance criteria, parameters, characteristics, and interrelationships.

  • Assesse requirements against a range of diverse considerations, including safety and human factors, technical risks, functionality, reliability, failure analysis, quality assurance, cost, and environmental impact.

  • Provide recommendations for advancing programs and/or oversees changes in production methods or materials directed by changes in requirements, technological advances, or shortcomings in design and/or performance.

  • Manage specific developments and works in areas where precedent, data, criteria, methods, or techniques are inadequate, controversial, or contain critical gaps.

  • Responsible for executing significant projects representing an important segment of agency programs and provide technical guidance, direction, and advice to engineers in the same specialty.

Education and Experience Qualification

  • Requires Bachelors degree in relevant discipline. Experience for education may be substituted with customer approval.

  • Must have ability to work within specific procedures and processes of the Air Force Test Center and DoD regulations and guidelines.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with customer interaction and presentation capabilities required.

  • Ability to quickly understand the customers overall technical objectives and mission a provide effective solutions.

  • Exemplify a dedication to achieving the mission of the 704 Test Group as well as high standards of quality and excellence in performing the duties.

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while being able to prioritize work to balance multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Must be willing to travel up to 10%.

  • US Citizenship required.

Security Clearance

  • Must have an active Department of Defense Top-Secret Security Clearance.
